5/1/09- Credential Celebration

Aside from teaching school everyday, Grant had been driving to Arcadia 1-2x/week for night classes. He has been working on getting his teaching credential for the past 2 years and is finally done. Point Loma Nazarene University is located in San Diego, but they have an extension in Arcadia. It's about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic, and his classes are usually 4:30-8:30pm. They had a Credential Celebration to honor all of the students who finished their credential. So my parents picked us up and we went. It was a pretty simple thing. They had each of the students come up and have them tell their favorite thing about PLNU. Then they handed them a pen and a certificate (it's not the actual one, Grant still has some paperwork to complete before it gets sent to him in the mail. But all the course work is done).

Here's Grant entertaining the crowds. He started by saying, "Oh man, I get really nervous when speaking in front of large groups, which is why I went into teaching." Baaah dump dump dum. What a comedian!

Grant's favorite teacher, Professor Berry.

As soon as Grant finished his part, we grabbed his certificate and a cookie and jumped in the car. We had to get back to Glendale for another softball game. Grant changed in the car.

The Bayles boys! David, Grant, & Brock

My brother, Brock, organized this team with Grant and my other brother, David, along with my cousin, Mark, and a bunch of guys from the ward and friends of Brock's. They played every Friday night. Grant also played Tuesday nights on a team that was organized by Will, one of the players on the Friday night team.
