Yay! I get to wear a button with this little cutie on it!
The official team picture. Leah and asst coach, Brian, couldn't be there.
Abby has really enjoyed playing soccer. She finally scored a goal in 2 of the last games! That was really exciting. Back at the beginning of the season, AYSO gave us a schedule of games. So when I turned in my work schedule, I made sure not to work her last game. Well, about 2 weeks ago, AYSO gave each team the option of playing one more game. I, of course, voted for no game since I had to work. However, everyone else wanted to play. So I went to work that morning and informed the charge nurse that I would really, really, really appreciate taking a long lunch to go to Abby's game. Things were really busy, and I thought there was no way I would be able to make it. People were walking in like crazy and delivering shortly after. I had just done a c-section and was in the recovery room with my patient. It was 11:00 (the game started at 11:30). After hearing about all the chaos going on on the unit, I started to get a little bit weepy, figuring there was no way I was going to be able to go. Then, at 11:15, a nurse walked in and said, "give me report and get out of here." I jumped up and gave her a huge hug. When I went out to the unit, the board was nearly empty. Apparently some patients had gone home all of a sudden, and the new deliveries had been moved to couple care. So I made it to Abby's game in the middle of the 1st quarter!
Abby did great! What a difference from her first game!
Ashlin saw me with the camera, and had to get in front of it!
Troy's a natural quarterback. He is constantly throwing that football!
The Lovely Lady Bugs, cheering for the Mighty Tigers!
After the game we drove down the street for the team party
What a cute cake!
Then they passed out trophies
First of many, I am sure!

What a star!
I told all the girls to run give the coach a big group hug:
Abby was the only one that listened! =-)
After helping Grant load up all the kids, I got in the car and called work. They said the triage had exploded and they needed me back. It was absolutely perfect. I wanted those 2 hours off to be there for Abby, but I needed to work. It was truly a miracle!
