I hope I can do this right

I know, this is the first time I have posted anything on this blog. But, Grant's at the High School Football game, the kids are asleep, the house is as clean as I care to make it, and the Directv doesn't get hooked up until tomorrow. So, what else am I to do? I doubt anyone will even read this since I imagine you've all given up reading our blog given the fact that we update it so infrequently. Anyway, here's a little update of our lives.

We closed escrow on our house two weeks ago Friday. We had planned to wait until the roof got re-done and the HVAC put in, but be were both anxious to get in (especially Grant). So as soon as we got a key, we came over to the house and cleaned all the carpets so that they would be dry by Saturday. On Saturday we took our beds over to the house from my parents and my brothers and brother-in-law and one of Grant's baseball players came over to help unload the trailer that Grant's parents brought back from Utah. Our stuff had been sitting in the storage unit in Provo for the past year. By 9pm we finally got all the kids' beds figured out and were able to put them down. Then, we worked on our bed. Over the next few days we went back and forth to my parents house collecting the rest of our stuff and then worked on unpaking all the boxes. Monday the 22nd, my mom came over and helped me unpack some boxes including my entire kitchen! Thanks, mom! I was glad we got a lot done, because Grant's sister, Karen, and her family stayed with us Thursday en route to a Lewis family reunion. We had a great time with them, although it was short. Sunday the 28th was our last day in the La Crescenta ward. We're sad to leave that ward, but we're excited to start attending the La Canada II ward.

We were scheduled for the roofers to come on Monday the 29th, and then Directv to come on Wednesday. However, we woke up Monday to scatterings of raindrops. What were the chances that for the first time in like 5 months, we get some rain on the very day our roof is suppose to be torn apart? I've been worried about the roof since we first saw the house and have been praying that it wouldn't rain before it got fixed so that it wouldn't cause greater damage. The rain was light, but it was enough for the roofer to reschedule for Wednesday. They didn't show up until almost 11am and started the tear down. The Directv guy showed up around 4 and realized the spot where he was going to place the dish was going to be gone the next day and so he had to reschedule for Friday. Grant was pretty bumbed since the Angels played last night and I was bumbed because I've missed another week of the office. The roof should hopefully be completed by tomorrow, as well as the Directv. We'll see if it all works out. I hope it does considering we'll be leaving around 4pm tomorrow for Boron. All of Grant's siblings and his parents will be in Boron this weekend to help get the house ready to sell and to have one last time together at their house of 37 years. To all of Grant's family-- our house is ALWAYS open for your visits and new memories with Grandma and Grandpa Clark!

Anyway, yesterday I unpacked the last box of random stuff. I still have several boxes of pictures and decorations, but I'm waiting until after the AC is put in and until I've got Grant around to help me hang everything. Even though the house still needs a lot of work, it feels good to have some order in my life! We love our new home!

So, we don't have a camera, just on our cell phones. My sister Becky has lent us hers for a little while so that we can take some before and after pictures. Anyway, I haven't downloaded any pictures yet, but no post is complete without some pictures of the fam. So, here are some pictures that we took on Grant's phone.

Our beautiful Ashlin! What a smile! Abby in Grandma & Grandpa Bayles' Backyard.
Okay, I'm having a hard time figuring out format on this thing, so I'll just end it now!

i'm sure you're loving having your own space! And don't worry--no Office last night. We were sad about it too. They ran the VP debate.

Clark Family! It has been too long! WOW Troy is so big now! He is almost as big as Abby. Great ball player! It's so good to know that you guys are still alive and kickin'. Also good to know that things are going good for you. I was just going through my list and saw your family. I haven't checked your blog for a long time cuz it was always the same when I got on so it's nice to see how cute your family is getting.
